If you’re in the market for a powerful off-road pickup, you may want to consider buying a Used Ford Raptor. The truck has long been praised for its off-road capabilities, and the current generation model makes even more improvements than before.
What to Look for When Buying a Used Ford Raptor
The Ford Raptor is available in the three-seat regular, five-seat SuperCab and the four-door SuperCrew body styles. Both come standard with the high-output 3.5L V-6, 24-valve “EcoBoost” engine that produces 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. It comes paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Inside, the Raptor’s cabin features the same design layout and passenger space as the F-150. It has a 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster and more interior storage. The steering wheel has a race car-style orange mark at the 12 o’clock position and prominent aluminum paddle shifters.
You can choose from a variety of options to customize the Raptor’s look and feel. These include a twin-panel moonroof, skullcap folding sideview mirrors, a voice-activated touchscreen navigation system, Recaro blue-accented leather upholstery and second-row heated seats.
You can also opt for a dual-turbocharged 5.0L V-8 that puts out 650 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque. This engine isn’t as smooth as the 3.5L EcoBoost, but it’s more than enough to pull a Raptor through rough terrain with ease. Other performance upgrades include a cold air intake and a power-raising exhaust.
